Daniel C. Allison, MD, FACS, MBA, is board certified in orthopedic surgery with expertise in musculoskeletal oncology, joint reconstruction, and anterior hip replacement. He is Assistant Director of Orthopedic Oncology, Cedars-Sinai Sam Oschin Cancer Center. Previously, Dr. Allison was Assistant Director of the USC Center for Orthopaedic Oncology at the USC Norris Cancer Hospital, which was preceded by his position as Assistant Director of the Southern CaliforniaPermanente Medical Group’s Division of Orthopaedic Oncology.
Dr. Allison is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is also a member of the Musculoskeletal Tumor Society and the California Orthopedic Association.Online Contact Form
As an orthopedic oncologist, Dr. Allison is a recognized leader in malignant problems of the musculoskeletal system, including soft tissue and primary sarcomas of the bone, invasive metastatic bone cancer, and invasive skin cancers of the back, pelvis, shoulder girdle, and extremities.
Dr. Allison is one of a handful of surgeons who performs the direct anterior approach to hip replacement and is the designer of a one-of-a-kind patent-pending anterior hip retractor system. His goal is to help all surgeons perform the anterior approach to hip replacement by training them in this minimally invasive technique.

Orthopedic Oncology Specialist
Dr. Allison has published several papers in peer-reviewed journals and co-authored two book chapters for a book on orthopedic surgery. He frequently guest speaks at orthopedic society meetings on the topic of orthopedic conditions and has presented numerous papers and abstracts. He has also served on the board of the Global Journal Society.
A cum laude graduate from Southern Methodists University, Texas, with a B.A. in biochemistry, Dr. Allison earned combined graduate medical and business administration degrees from Baylor College of Medicine and Rice University Graduate School of Management respectively. He received postgraduate training at the University of Southern California (USC) in a combined orthopedic and general surgery internship, an orthopedic surgery residency and a musculoskeletal oncology fellowship.
